Oh, yes, all of the time. I am awake right now trying to catch up because I had a busy day today and an even busier day tomorrow so I only have a few hours to get caught up. But yea, I often have to work a few hours each weekend or stay late throughout the week to catch up on things .
That's good to know because my fear is that it will impair my work life balance. People say I shouldn't do it because I can get burned out. Does doing this affect your work life balance or does doing this do more good than harm?
I've done that but lately I've really worked to make sure it doesn't happen. The problem, I find, is that if you don't have a real wall against it, you start letting it happen more and more. The old slippery slope phenomenon. So I just make sure it can't happen, even if I have to work furiously during the week.
I guess in my work it's never ending. I feel like on the clock I never have anytime to catch up because my day to day tasks are consistent. Basically no opportunity to breathe. Therefore tasks like scanning documents get extremely backed up and it's hard to get a handle of it because I am so busy staying on top of my daily tasks. Have you every had a role like this of have felt this way in your current role?
