I'm in Advisory and I'm able to expense my membership dues to the local CFA society here.

I expense my professional dues each year with no issues. Charge to GAA. In DTE it should be dues professional & trade

Doubtful. Why would they?

The money would come from your service line if you had a "valid" business reason. Maybe your counselor could help you make the business case to your service line. Good luck let us know how it goes :)

Yes they do for my cpa

Unpopular opinion- maxing out your 401K is overrated. I would rather have the money for other investments that I can access now ( ie real estate). Thoughts ?

Talked to a guy for a month and then we decided to just be friends with benefits. Since then our texts have mostly been about arranging our next hookup. I don’t think we are compatible in the long run, but we do share some hobbies so I kinda wish our texts have been less superficial. Anyone knows how to navigate this?

How frequently should one expect or advocate for a raise at a small firm? I moved to a new firm (about ten lawyers) about two and a half years ago. After my first year I got a 20% raise following a brief and exclusively positive performance review. Its been about 17 months since then and silence. I have the general sense that the firm struggled a little financially during COVID and I don't want to seem ungrateful or greedy, but apparently the firm is doing well enough to hire more associates.
