Does lay off continue in CTS? Anyidia

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Is a second career gap considered career suicide in tech/consulting - both were voluntary, never fired or laid off?

I have been going on interviews and noticed 2 department heads already assume I was laid off or fired due to a 4 months gap. I explained I left my last role due to short term health issues that have been resolved. Not even sure how to respond when they assume. Any advise? Thanks!

When someone has a gap (up to 6 months) between a big law job and their first in house application, do you assume they were laid off? Would you advise a candidate to actively share why they took a break, if it wasn’t a lay off?

Without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 years in QA experience. When I started I made $65k and have jumped to $78k. I have seen other companies post $100k+. At what point are you too specialized to lateral to internal audit?
