Promotion percentage could be added with DCA, but then if you get a C band, you're back to your current CTC. Try to find a good hike outside is what I personally feel.
3 ways they will try -
Immediate promotion comes with fixed salary,
Wings 2 DCA assessment - get removed if you get below B band,
Retention bonus - technology specific, if your unit gets changed then it may get removed.
In short, last two options has terms and conditions.
It is separate component. And distribution is depends on the unit. Some units provides on quarterly basis, some half yearly and some yearly from the date of revised compensation with retention allowance.
So for example if you get retention bonus around 3.5 Lakhs added with new compensation letter effective from 1st of january. then in case of quarterly, you will get 3.5L/4 = 88k in the month of march salary and so on..
It happens through DCA in which case I personally feel is a hanging sword since band hardly depends on your work, it all depends on the manager and the curve that he wants to achieve within the project.
