Does this sound unusual?

We recently began using a new commission/VP model to help make the process easier to work with, calculations, payouts, etc.

Submit our budgets, Q1 and Q2 review passes, no issues. Q3 review, we are asked to bump up budgets to reflect the growth we have made(some are 200-300% based on unknown new projects)

Problem is, as our structure is based on sales-to-budget, they have essentially dangled the same carrot further away, no longer meeting goals.

Anyone have any advice on how to transition from AE in tech sales to Customer Success?

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?

Just accepted an opportunity as a district manager for an Insurance company. Not 100% sure about Commission-based only.
