Alcohol is so much more prevalent in that regard, and in early sobriety, I recall that there were billboards and commercials EVERYWHERE. I called another alcoholic and/or got to a meeting when temptation bubbled, and I doubled down on working towards having meaningful sobriety.
I couldn't tell you exactly when, but somewhere along the way, I turned around and saw that I had a life worth living, and without my permission, I had stopped obsessing about getting drunk. At that point, the billboards and commercials affected me about the same as a tampax commercial, I recognized that I wasn't the intended audience and went about business.

Sometimes we can’t escape the alcohol and drugs be waved in front of our faces; other times we have a choice of what we’re viewing. I had to stop choosing shows and movies that glamorized drinking and drugs for a while. No reason to make myself needlessly suffer.
And like IBM said, this gets easier over time, if you keep working the program. More often than not, when I see drinking and drugs on tv these days, it’s a grateful reminder that I don’t have to wake up hung over or fear the police.
Nah but then again I am a drinker. When I see alcohol on the TV it honestly makes me want to gag. I can't stand to look at it, smell it,, be near it etc. It just brings back so many bad memoreis.
