Biggest takeaway: “one day at a time” applies to everything.
And trust your gut, it always knows. My mind can justify and rationalize, but that subtle sense of the next right thing is born in my gut and has never been wrong. I can choose to ignore it, and if I do, it 100% always leads to some sort of suffering.
Well I’ve now gone more days without alcohol than any time since I turned 16…just realized I hit 100 the other day. Crap I missed it! The one day at a time is a powerful takeaway. Alcohol is literally everywhere. Still kind of miss it. But life is much “sharper” now. I really am curious how much better it will get. I hope my brain continues to heals more. Another takeaway, addiction still exists. Whether it’s salt, sugar, savory, caffeine, pot…the issue is not the thing. It’s between my ears :)
Sobriety isn’t a magic wand where life gets better overnight, but it’s a solid enabler of the best things that life has to give 🥰
Be gentle with yourself.
