Does white collar get better as a midlevel? I can't stand the endless doc review responding to subpoenas

Yes. Mid-levels still have some doc review, at least in terms of managing juniors or contract reviewers and doing some of the second-level review, but you become crucial for filtering the right stuff up to your seniors and helping craft the issues, workplans, etc. based off that. You will also start to prepare and lead the interviews, make and give the client presentations, etc.

Yes. That’s usually just one phase of a matter too and if you stay long enough you’ll see how that response comes to a head with interviews/presentation/etc. Also, most mid levels and seniors miss in a way the “easy” billables of doc review. But doc review shouldn’t be your whole day and if it is try to get on some litigation matters as well to keep those other skills fresh.

I actually love it. I was a paralegal in BL during law school. Maybe I am use to the environment? What am I missing? Help me remove the rose colored glasses. Junior Associates - How much student loan debt are you and your peers in these days? A few young partners and counsel at my firm were discussing the student loan moratorium and most of us were convinced we could have paid the majority of our loans off with the bonuses associates got these last two years.
