Negotiating with EY for M/SM Tech Consulting. I have 15 years experience, skills are in demand and my interviews went extremely well. 1. What are the salary ranges for M and SM in NYC. 2. I am told it is only going to be a M now, for my own benefit-no EY network means failure at selling. Whats the highest salary I can negotiate at M. Any other tips will be handy. I have "sold" (support on sales & new roles through relationships) plus I have solid delivery experience. I really want SM 😀😀😀 EY

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

You should definitely go, if their business plan is solid. You can always come back.
For some reason I thought that the $325K was the base salary… it doesn’t sound high compared to what I believe an AP at McKinsey makes. Clearly their upside is in the stocks, which puts all the risk into their business plan and outlook. Unless you think you’re looking at them as a new unicorn, I would think twice. And again, you can always go back to McK or MBB if you want.

Lol I love this thread and the variation in response :)
IMO APs tend to be in the 400-450 range for exit, so this squarely lands in that especially since you said ipo is months away so 500k is pretty much liquid. Not a wow offer but a good offer. If this is a MCOL then it’s a great offer.
I’d aim for 500-550 yoy and if you think you believe in the stock, I’d push the stock more so you can massively cash in on the ipo pop.

Medium cost of living city
Hmm is 325k the total comp? Are there annual stocks besides the upfront stocks?
Also what’s their expected time to IPO?
My point is that this is not a no-brainer offer the way it sounds..
How much better? They are game to negotiate. Looking for data points to help craft a counter
Not a good offer unless you think their business outlook is phenomenal.
They are getting solid venture backing. Really solid!
OP, you’re going to clear $420-430k at end of year 1 as AP. Measure against that
Seems like they have tried to match what year 1 AP makes. Even tho the stock options is where the risk is

This looks like a pretty good deal to me, depending on what stage the company is and how viable do you believe they are you may not get much better
Seems a bit low. 2nd year EM here and just got a 270k (base + bonus) plus 470K stocks at a tech co.
470K stocks vest over 4 years. I wish it was 1 year.
Wts your current base/TC ?
You could cross this once you become a partner
Looks like a good deal considering options
Sounds pretty low tbh. Partner in 2-3 years means 7 figures in 5-6 years.

Not a good offer I got offered 350 B&B as an M from ACN. You can do way better as AP from McK

OP- Take it, and refer me as your replacement.
