Enrolled in the Hyatt/MetLife legal plan to create a will now that my wife and I have two young kids. Are there any other things I should use it for before the benefit runs out end of year?

Will, trust, and custody. Have your lawyer research what custody laws are in your state since a Will doesn’t always do the trick.

The Trust is essential in my book, it avoids probate court which a Will goes through which can tie up any inheritance to your kids for years depending how fast the court moves.

Also a living Will is a good idea in the event a medical emergency happens, how you want that handled will be in writing which can save your spouse from having to “decide” what happens if you’re in a coma or something.

Agreed!! Will and trust. If you paid for this out of your pocket it would be several thousand dollars. It’s definitely worth the money.

Parking tickets. Small claims court issues.

How much are you contributing to your 401k?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Thoughts on potential business ideas or investment opportunities where I can live the life I deserve now and not in retirement? I’m always trying to think of potential business ideas and come up with nothing. As far as interests, it doesn’t matter what it is. As long as it makes money I’m interested.

Interested in joining the Reserves, but I’m guessing that’s way too much with a consulting career? No ROTC or previous military experience so I’d have to go through OCS/OTS as well.
Or is it better to wait until I exit to industry and pursue my interest in the military then?
Any and all advice appreciated.

My supervisor gave me 8hours of AWOL because I couldn't show up one day because I was under anxiety. I have gave him letters from psychiatrist, psychologist that I'm passing through this. He didn't care and gave me an AWOL. I want to leave my job because my department is very toxic but I don't want to leave having that on my records.
If I move to another job later on (private or federal) this 8 hours of AWOL will show up?

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?
