Hey there! Wanted to gather some opinions. How much of a salary increase would you require if you were going from a fully remote position to a hybrid position? 3 days in/2 out with about a 45 min- hour commute by train.

Company was acquired - losing benefits and company is attempting a true-up in salary to make up for it. Is it unreasonable to expect the true-up to account for my federal and state income taxes I’ll now have to pay on the incremental salary? For example, let’s say I’m losing $2k in annual reimbursements for phone and internet. This is a reimbursement so it’s tax free. My state and federal tax rate is a combined 37% so I would ask for $2739 to account for the taxes I’ll pay on that

My 3.5 year old brandished a small kitchen knife towards his 1.5 yr old sibling. I have never seen this behavior in the past and a bit disturbed. He did not have an answer when I asked why he did it. Has anyone dealt with claiming a home office deduction for an active real estate activity? There was a case (Dr. Edwin Curphey), a couple decades ago, where the taxpayer was a dermatologist and actively managed a real estate business. He won the case that allowed the deduction. Would that require the RE business to be on Sch C? Or can the deduction be an "other expense" on Sch E?
