European out of office messages really be like “I’m not working for the next 3 months, and neither is anyone else who could help you. Your email will be auto-deleted and if you send another you’ll be blocked. Thanks for your understanding.”

Are people here jealous though that Europeans have far better work life balance, care about their wellbeing (in every way) and have a far better quality of life in general?

likefunny

Europeans know better than we do how to live a good life.

Europeans also have a bad economy and soon with an aging population and us not paying for the majority of military spending will soon lose a lot of their bragging points like a functioning healthcare and 3 month vacations. Say what you will about American work culture but for the majority the hard work pays off.

That’s because accounting is a dogsh*t career path. For 98% of them, they are overworked and underpaid. Some maybe it to C-Suite as CFOs but other than that you’re just stuck in mediocrity for your entire life.

So true!!! Then if I’m gone for 1-2 days I feel the need to respond. The culture is so different! And in my experience, their quality of work is nowhere near US

Agree with quality of work being less than the US

Naw, America is way better! Speaking as someone who worked in Europe

I also worked in Europe for a short-time. I am not sure about the work but it can be very difficult to move to Europe unless you are fluent in a few foreign languages. I applied to work in London but ended up in Luxembourg instead.

Hey everyone! New interesting (REMOTE) job opportunity! Potential candidates must have background knowledge on disability/accessibility services as it relates to technology. 5+ years of experience in UX/UI required.

I currently have both of my retirement IRAs in SPY (Roth & Traditional). I rarely ever see anyone here invested in SPY, it's usually a vanguard fund like VOO, VTI, VXX etc. What's you're reasoning behind that, and alternatively if you're in SPY, why?

Lot of fear in the market right now (understandably so). The situation in Ukraine is awful and the potential consequences are scary to think about.

There are some who want to sell in fear of their investments falling further. Do not do this. Hold and continue to buy more. Continue your 401k contributions, and add whatever you can afford after every paycheck into your brokerage. Those who sold the covid crash were often late buying back in.

This is the dip you're worried about.
