Haha I used to apply to things when I felt spiteful about something that happened at the office and it would make me feel better for the day haha. But if the feeling evaporates the next day then it’s not a real desire. Or if you get a call about an interview for one of those applications and you find you aren’t interested, that is a sign too!

I think you need to figure out what exactly is causing the stress and what changes are you desiring to see in your career. The nucleus of the stress could be outside of your job altogether, yet the demands of the job (though enjoyed) contributes to your stress, making you consider a job change.
Most of the time. When the head of firm thinks he knows how to manage. When the first thing out of his mouth in the morning is puss instead of good morning. When the chatty patties of the office that seem to have nothing to do spend all day talking instead of taking on some work. If it wasn’t for the fact that I work for two great bosses, I’d be long gone.
When the stress stays, rather than comes and goes, or you don't see light at the end of the tunnel for whatever is important to you. Better to look before things get bad and looking doesn't mean accepting, so look away
