Ever have to bring your kids into work? Ever have an anonymous complaint logged because you did? Shit happens. Did the best I could that day... people suck.

I started a full time in-house design job that pays extremely well. I barely have to work at all. This makes me very confused since I kept hearing stories of people working 60+ hr weeks as designers at ad agencies. I am not complaining, but I have this creeping irrational feeling that I’ll get fired for not working even though there’s nothing for me to do. Should i be making up projects or asking for more work? Or just chill out? I just feel very confused. Are a lot of full time jobs like this?

Hey guys… I’m a case worker in child safety and I’m someone who loves being outdoors/dies at a desk all day. I’m hoping to organise that at least once a week I can go to a cafe and catch up on all my case notes that need to go into the system.
So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

However, there is little to no learning and its very slow, the project is just starting and the client itself is not clear what they want. Do you think I should switch just because its a big 4. I’ve made it 5+ years in a NY M&A practice and have consistent exceeding expectations reviews. I’ve had a few mental breakdowns because of work during this time, but thankfully made it through. I’ve been in a near constant depressive/anxious state for family reasons for the last year and half, and am soon having my first kid. I’m scared shitless that I’ll spiral out of control both at work and at home if something doesn’t change soon. Any suggestions on how to keep this job and keep it together?

Which companies have best WLB, least stressed DS/DA roles? I’ve been suffering from some immunology issues and stress from work would worsen it, therefore I want to move to a company/role with good benefit (esp. healthcare) and great WLB (little chance of PIP, etc). Doesn’t have to be high-paying, as long as it can support my life (single) and long-term medical cost. Thanks in advance.

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

How do you adjust your WLB?
I’m so burnt out that I wish I could yell at people who were not kind or supportive to me, but those people often unfortunately were in position of power.
I don’t like unkindness, but my anger is just very bottled up…

Has anyone else talked to a doctor about stress while trying to conceive? I’ve been having a really hard time wanting a baby for the way my husband and I have been arguing or talking to each other. I think we should go to counseling. I know I love him and I know he loves me- there’s just so much animosity so much anxiety around discussions. Do you think our anxiety or tension is because we have not been able to conceive?
