I have unlimited PTO with my new company... I’ll never work at another company with this policy.
This is another problem and abuse rolled down on the backs of managers to have to deal with. Bs half days. So many peripheral issues from this stupid cheap policy! Whoever came up with this should resign for being so short sighted…
I like the new policy. I am taking more time than usual - just need to plan and drop it on your schedule early and manage your utilization.
And no payout if you leave and still have time on the books.
At least in the past your hours would have been same as your salary rate and a portion of time carried over. There was oversight and encouragement for leadership to push for employees to take PTO. Now, let’s not even track it. Like I said earlier, if you complain now the pushback will be that you need to mange your career. Same as you need to manage your hours billed to a client maximum of 40-45 per week even if you work 60+ hours. It’s your fault you couldn’t manage it, right? I would expect this from Deloitte where they love to drill this reverse propaganda in your head and make you feel insecure and dumb but not EY where their people supposedly come first.
