OP - You’re not alone. I’d say the stress must be enhanced because of the company so its not totally your fault too. Find a different firm to work for, whenever you get the next chance. When you won’t be with this kinda culture - then you have more variables, in your control, to work on.
I understand, but you must have left consulting for some reason right? Remember that! If that reason doesn’t hold anymore - then you can pivot back to consulting always.
I’d say don’t get in the grass is always greener mindset - it will make it hell. If you are getting what you left consulting for - faur, otherwise pivot back to a different consulting firm or within the industry, or wait for a promotion here and dont become like one of these managers when its your time!
This isn’t just you - very relatable.

At D it was something similar. Some partners are better than others. I was fortunate to work with good SMs and Ps. But the M level and below was atrocious - especially SCs that refuse to give you context on projects because it’s “irrelevant”.
This is poor management. It’s a bad market, but start looking for another job.
Next time you get complaints, insist on a session in which expectations are laid out. Keep going up if it does not happen.

Yeah. Because my old department leader did things differently, now the new leader is asking me why I’m not doing things the way they do it. Basically.
Worth mentioning I’m trying to switch careers amidst all of this. Tempted to go back to school full time since I cannot imagine trying to do well at both while struggling at work
