DUDE. facts. i don’t make the scope or due dates but somehow i’m the one who have to constantly be the bad news bearer?
It’s tough yes, but the more these executional realities set in with unrealistic creatives and clients, the stronger the producer role will become- as the teams will look to them to provide solutions. So keep speaking up ( push to be involved earlier) and always bring options/ solutions when something isn’t feasible.
as tough as our circumstances are, we thrive to STILL offer solutions and glimpses of hope. it’s what make us magicians in this business
Seems like your colleagues are the problem. Stand your ground!
When the dark thoughts take over, sometimes I just want to let it fail... we pull rabbits out of a hat time, after time, after time... and then they forget to credit us on the awards entry. It's hard. When we do our best it's invisible... but i feel like it all needs to crumble just a*once* for them to see our worth. Just once.... but we all have too much pride and we'll just fix it once again.
We’ve been reduced to executers. We are now just glorified project managers. It makes me sad, but it’s the truth.
It’s all about setting expectations once you get that insane thing dropped on your desk
