I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

Pittsburgh big4 audit senior salary?
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

Deloitte also has sabbatical you can take so you can study for your CPA.
It will be helpful in the long run if you're staying in accounting and some roles in finance.
It helps if you want to keep all doors open- especially being still early in your career. Even some industry jobs in the C suite have CPA as a requirement. If you plan to stay out of public accounting for the remainder of your career though, you really may never need it.

For either accounting for finance CPA will have a lot of upside.
It absolutely sucks to take the exams while working full time in public, especially if you are not naturally good at taking standardized tests, like me. but yes it is worth it, I would not be in the private sector role I am in now without a CPA license. If you feel like there is even a small chance you can get your mind into doing it, then accept that things are going to suck for 6-12 months and just push through, the rest of your life will be materially improved. Good luck!
Yes and the B4 firms also pay for it so even if it sucks, it’ll probably suck anywhere. Might as well take advantage of the cyclical work and get on a plan to do it now while you’re at B4 (or you’ll never do it)
It is definitely worth while to get your CPA. Even if you decide to do something else at some point in the future.
Depends on the industry. If it’s in accounting related field then yes, if it’s in something else then it won’t matter at all. Most people outside of accounting don’t even know what a cpa is and those that do knows the stigma that’s behind cpa
@EY3 - I don’t agree that most people don’t know what a CPA is. If it wasn’t valued than some companies wouldn’t hire mostly only CPA’s. As someone who majored in accounting and never passed the CPA exam I always thought it limited my opportunities.
You’re an accountant. Get your cpa.
CPA is always worth it
