Crossroads Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc. I have been with the organization almost 6 years and have accomplished achievement of my MSL (Masters Strategic Leadership) and LOVE the organization…BUT…I am not having any success in moving into a new position…my interviews are great experiences but it seems to be a pattern of not being selected yet encouraged to continue applying…received information from a mentor/manager to ask for candid feedback…when is enough…ENOUGH??

Seeing stupid people making high salaries gives me hope. That means if I'm not stupid and stick around long enough I can certainly make that much or more.
My impression is that you don't have to be technically competent to be a partner, you just need to be able to sell work. So, they're not stupid, per se, just utilizing a different skill set than the staff.
EY2, following that logic, I would have to conclude that most of my client contacts are also smart. I have been in public accounting for a little while now and my conclusion is that becoming partner has little to do with skill in most cases, selling or otherwise, and mostly to do with luck i.e. right place at the right time.
No matter how stupid I feel on a regular basis, I will probably be ok.
I guess you are the stupid one, they are making way more money for doing way less so that would make them pretty smart?
I think that you could say that about most things in life. A favorite quote that comes to mind is "showing up is 80%of life"
What about when you deal with partners that border on stupid?
