They haven't yet. Having the first offer discussion tomorrow. I will be expected to give some number, but given that it's a role with people management involved which I haven't done before, I am not sure what to ask for. The process with this one has been so long that I don't remember we ever had a discussion about the salary expectations in the beginning.
Never give a number first.

For 1. Review the offer and complete the negotiations and once you have the final offer let them know.
2. Did they give you a general idea of the compensation package?
I'd wait until you have the final offer and then just let them know, more as a formality. This type of thing happens all the time, and it sounds like there will be plenty of time for them to prepare. Congrats!!!
1. Absolutely, they will mostl likely ask you anyways. 2. What did they offer you?
You probably should mention this to the recruiter. Plus, do some research about your role and the salary people are getting for having a similar role. If they try to low-ball you, you can argue that based on your research this is the amount that you believe is fair.
It is okay to not mention it in the interview. I would just tell them ASAP so they know. It really shouldn't be a big deal.
