I’ve been a licensed general lines (2-20) insurance agent for year and a half and have sold around 2M in premium, of which most of it is personal lines (homeowners, DP), and some commercial lines business. Even though I’m licensed to write my own business, the sole producer in the company is my boss. I currently make 35k + 15k in commissions (approximately). Is this a normal salary? Or how much should I be making? Appreciate your help

I feel like account management is increasingly becoming the “meetings and deadlines” department.

They throw client requests at creatives and strategy. They have no clue what the client wants or needs, they don’t ask questions to the client and just expect creatives and strategy to figure it all out while they build timelines and due dates. When you ask them questions their best answers are “let’s connect on this offline”

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia at retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax (ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity.
