Will be leaving for a competitor (different consulting firm) soon and trying to figure out how to approach 2 weeks notice. I have several weeks of unused vacation still - will / can my firm force me to use my vacation time during my two week notice period? We were forced to take 6 days leave in April (bovenwettelijk) which was kind of a weird move. I don’t think our bonuses are getting cut this year so if it’s my bonus or 6 days leave I’d gladly take the latter.

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.
