Any advice for how to decline travel? Partner is pushing for us to go but there is a delta variant and I want to be able to spend time with my family without worrying I’ll infect them. The team culture is quite toxic (these people berate each other daily) so I feel uncomfortable speaking up, but I really don’t see a good reason for going there to do work I can do from home.

I would have a mature and direct conversation with the partner first. Rationally explain your concerns and draw a firm boundary stating that you're not comfortable with it. If the partner doesn't respect that, then get HR involved and say you're not willing to travel, but are willing to work from home. At worst you get put on a different project.

Note, the partner may try to convince you otherwise. They'll probably list reasons why they think it's safe. Listen to their concerns and demonstrate that you hear them, but do not cave in under the pressure. Trust your own decision making process and stand firm. Be your own best advocate, because nobody is going to stand up for your besides yourself.

Just share your family situation - kids who are unvaccinated, elderly or other people who are more susceptible (even with vaccine). Think most would understand.

Say you don’t want to travel because of your family

Be direct with the partner and SM about your concerns, should not be an issue given current travel guidelines. Be aware we are back on the road next month so if you are on a project or account that expects travel you may need to roll off

Hi guys, wanted to know a little bit about the Post Merger Integration(PMI) team at KPMG Global Services. Would be great if you can share about nature of projects, work life balance, travel etc.

My company plans to have an onsite meeting for 3 days which would require me to travel and stay at a hotel. I recently joined the company so this will be a great opportunity to meet my team but at the same time worried about what I would bring back from the travel. I’ve two girls under 3 who go to daycare but we have tried to be as cautious as possible. I’m not sure if they would have such meetings in the future so trying to decide what is best for myself and my family. What would you do?

I’m very into indian arts culture and myself learned classical dance forms (3), Carnatic singing, and violin, but I am interested to hear about some more arts you all might be engaging in as hobbies or passions. What are some other nice arts culture hobbies inspired by India?
