Been hell of a year so far. Sort of bittersweet. Lost my job a few months back. Laid off the first time. But my net worth is all time high. And not only that, this has been the fastest increase. 401k up 40% this year. Personal brokerage up 40%. And just refinanced at 2.5. Not sure whether to be sad or happy. Guess will go with happy for now.

What’s going on?

I was very successful as an internaional sales exec at a startup for 15 years before we were bought by a large publicly traded company. The culture shift was dramatic, as was the way that I was expected to work. I was laid off a tortuous 3 years after the buyout.

While I was in some ways relieved (put me out of my misery!) I spiralled pretty hard and after a while started working PT jobs, gig type stuff, etc. while I figured things out, and healed from burnout.

I got laid off with no warning. Reason given was my utilization was low at 81.8%. No performance problems. Would it be inappropriate for me to apply back to PwC to the teams I discussed rolling onto?

Depression and anxiety were affecting my job and so I told my counselor and HR lead. I took a leave of absence (short term disability). I returned and was laid off due to “no path forward” not due to performance. I generally have good performance reviews though only an average performance on my last project. Can I sue for wrongful termination due to the firm’s treatment of my disability?

How long does pwc law take to file i140 after sending all docs.

I’m so anxious about my 485 case. The RFE for medical records have been received since March 2021 and there has been no update since then. I’ve talked to Emma and Tier 2, they just say it’s with in normal processing time, which can be up to 33 months. Not sure if there is any better way to know more about that processing status.

My firm has filed a H1b petition for base location change in premium processing. What happens in the case of denial? Is my H1b denied as well or only the amendment for new location and I can continue to work in my old location.

I am one one of those laid off from Deloitte on H1-b (stamped) visa. My question is, if I join a consultancy and initiate H1-b transfer with them, then in one month I find full time job outside. Can the consultancy stop me from joining the full time role? I have heard couple of instances where consultancies not releasing the i797 approval document. If the consultancy does not release my i797, can my transfer process with the full time job happen? Please help - I have 40 days left to find new job
