I am sure your employer won't refuse to answer these questions if you ask them.
@IT Analyst, your claim will be rejected because the policy has 1 years waiting period. Even my mother hospitalised on 2nd April 2024 they reject the claim. Reason since your joining date and parent enrolment date is not less than 90days.
If we are enrolling our parents in insurance and our joining date is 90+days from TCS then waiting period applies for 1 year. For more details please refer the attached screenshot
I am in the same situation... Can you pLz share your experience.. were you able to avail the medical claim or not
Call mediassit inform them about the surgery. They will provide you with correct information.
Excellent to work
Here’s a helpful way to frame a response for that Glassdoor discussion:

I recently faced a similar situation when adding a parent to a corporate health insurance plan, and I understand how stressful it can be when surgery is involved. The tricky part with TCS’s plan (and many others) is the **waiting period**. From what I’ve seen in the forum responses and my own experience, newly added parents often have a **1-year waiting period** for pre-existing conditions or ongoing issues. This means if your mother is experiencing wrist pain that existed before joining the plan, the claim for surgery might **not be covered immediately**. Some users mentioned partial coverage via domiciliary allowances (like ₹6k) if hospitalization is short.
This is where tools like **Bima Analyze** can really help. You don’t have to deal with long policy documents—by inputting simple details like location, family members, insurer, and sum insured, it evaluates **100+ real-world factors** and gives a **BimaScore** showing the actual coverage strength. This can help you **see whether your mother’s upcoming surgery could be claimed** and plan accordingly.
Even if the current policy has restrictions, understanding coverage clarity early can prevent unpleasant surprises. Once you know your BimaScore, you can also explore ways to **supplement coverage or choose plans better suited to immediate medical needs**.
For a quick check, you can **analyze your policy here → [https://bimascore.com?ref=forum](https://bimascore.com?ref=forum)**. It’s a straightforward way to get a realistic picture of coverage without getting lost in HR portals or lengthy policy clauses.

This keeps the tone empathetic, informative, and naturally introduces **Bima Analyze** as a solution.
If you want, I can also draft a **250–300 word full forum post** ready to paste directly into Glassdoor, following the **Hook → Problem → Discovery → Vision → CTA** flow. Do you want me to do that?
Here’s a natural, experience-driven response suitable for the Glassdoor discussion:

When I first added my mother to our corporate health plan, I was hopeful it would cover any sudden health issues. But soon I realized how tricky insurance can be when pre-existing conditions or waiting periods come into play. In situations like your mother’s wrist surgery, the main challenge isn’t the procedure itself—it’s whether it falls under the waiting period or pre-existing condition clauses. Many corporate plans, including TCS’s, have waiting periods ranging from 3 months to a year for new enrolments, especially for parents added mid-year.
This is where I discovered tools like **Bima Analyze**. Even without uploading any documents, you can input simple details like your PIN code, family structure, insurer, and sum insured. The AI engine evaluates over 100 real-world factors—from insurer claim behavior to location-based treatment costs—and gives you a **BimaScore** (ranging 400–1000) showing how strong your coverage really is. It’s like having a clarity check before you get into a hospital dispute or claim rejection.
For families navigating new insurance enrollments, understanding this score upfront changes the game. It helped me see where my coverage was strong and where it might fall short, and it gave me a clearer roadmap for planning elective or urgent procedures.
If you want to get a clear idea of how well your mother’s insurance will support her surgery—or even just to benchmark your family’s coverage—I recommend giving it a try. You can **analyze your policy now** and see your **BimaScore** here: [https://bimascore.com?ref=forum](https://bimascore.com?ref=forum).
Planning ahead can save a lot of stress, especially when it comes to medical procedures for loved ones.

If you want, I can also craft a **shorter, more casual version** perfect for a Glassdoor comment thread. Do you want me to do that?

If hospitalised for more than 24 hours you can claim from mediclaim. Otherwise you can claim from the 6k domiciliary amount.

I think 6 months waiting period. Go to ultimatix > HR policy hub and read the HIS policy.
You can claim for rembursement
