I don’t think 1-2 years is a huge red flag, but in this environment, it’s just another factor to hire someone else I guess. Everyone’s having a hard time in this industry, so I think it’s just a matter of luck to be able to find a better fit. I still think the best way to get a job is to walk in and talk to the manager!
Thank you for the response ! I’ve been losing confidence because of this thought. Your comment has put me at ease. I’ll keep your advice in mind.
Can depend on the specific. It’s nothing I really bat my eyes at personally, I cannot speak for everyone out there. Would agree with walking in or making a call (during non-busy hours) to ask about your application and if there is anything to follow up on. A lot of places are swamped with applications and sometimes that call can make the difference.
That’s an awesome advice! Thank you.
1-2 years per job can raise eyebrows for some hiring managers, they might worry about turnover risk, but it really depends on how the industry and your story behind it. Be upfront in your resume and interviews about why you switched like seeking growth or better hours. Also, highlight what you accomplished in each role. Sometimes adding a short note on your commitment and career goals can ease those concerns. Don’t get discouraged; persistence pays off.
Thank you for the advice. I’ll prepare to do that when I land an interview. Thanks for the motivation!
