Hello everyone! I am currently new to the UX world, but I found that I've really connected with it since doing some research on the role as a UX Researcher. I have my BS in Psychology and CLDP, and I've had experience with research while in college. However, I'm not sure if my current role would be helpful in transitioning into this career. If anyone could provide some advice as where I could start in order to gain more knowledge or if anyone has any helpful resources that would be great!

Recently got hired for my first contract position. What are the things I should know about being a contractor?

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

I am considering switching careers from architecture to UX design or Product Management, and am unsure about which route I want to take. Is it common for someone to switch between UX and PMing within the same company? If so is it common in both directions? I joined a project that had already started and the team already settled on creating a user journey map, even though none of them are designers or in ux. I also have no experience in this field as I'm a data engineer. The user journey map was for mapping out the process for tenants finding housing assistance, so not a technical product.
