Hey DFW, TX folks. We're going through comp and merit raises, I suspect you all are too. This is the first year we're using pay ranges from payscale. I am completely surprised of how low compensation is in TX. For any of you that have visibility to pay ranges what is your experience with pay ranges for your company?

I have a third round interview this Thursday, but after I sent my availability, I booked a flight for work that is causing a problem. The interview ended up scheduled for 3:30-4:15, and I'm supposed to be on a 5pm flight out of LGA. Is there a reliably quiet place at LGA to do the interview (I don't have lounge access)? Would it be a bad idea to say my availability changed and I can't do that time slot anymore? Or should I cancel / rebook my flight to later at night?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? A friend of mine from a top tier consulting firm was counseled out. Do you consider it ethical that his career counselor is intentially spreading the information to his colleagues and to other consultants from other companies in the project? What can he do about it? Specially that he considers the potential layoff is purely based on the current situation (chargeability was low) and not on his performance (they said that his contribution to BD during his bench time was low)?
