If you can get the club explorer just for the points and no annual fee thefirst year, why not.
Club and explorer are 2 different cards.
Get the CSR, freedom, and freedom unlimited
If you aren’t going to use the club I don’t see the point unless for some reason you really need extra points.
Also, anyone use it as a go-to standard rewards card? I’m looking to replace the 1.5-1.75% I’m getting on a BoA preferred travel card with something with better cash back or rewards.
As consultants, even when we’re traveling for leisure We don’t really “pay” for it- e.g. we use points/miles or alt travel, so I don’t see the point of a travel card like chase sapphire (unless you’re allowed to use it to book work travel, then it’s a no brainer). Most of my personal expenses are food, so I got the Amex Gold (4x points on groceries and restaurants). If you just want cash back go for Citi double cash or Capital One Savor (get the Savor One if you spend < $9500 per year on dining & entertainment).
Club card if you value club access enough to offset fees. Otherwise, no. CSR and Amex Plat both better for flights
That boa card is pretty decent. Preferred has *2 on food etc but I believe the explorer has some extra miles too on some spends. It’s still worth churning cards for the sign up bonuses - I sent you a PM
