My job application status in portal says it is under review since one month but I haven't recieved any calls or mails. Does it mean I am still in consideration or they have put my candidature on hold?

My parents went through the same lol. Though they were deciding between NJ and Queens/Long Island. If you’re in a good district for schools, you will never have to consider private schooling for your kids.
There are a lot of Indians in Bensalem and Exton area in PA. This doesn’t compare to Edison though. If you want decent Indian population, PA will work fine. If you want a ton of Indian population around you, NJ is better.
Thanks- Is there a specific area in Exton? How do schools compare between Bensalem and Exton?
“with Indians around”. That wasn’t necessary.
Indian around also means indian stores and indian restaurant, and stores in close proximity
Which for some south Asian families it important
If you can afford the high taxes, it might be worth it for the community to stay in NJ. Once your kids graduate highschool you can leave. You can consider it like a pricey but quality education. Also I'd look to see what the tax % increase is in PA. As more people move over to PA for similar reasons to you, I'm sure taxes will increase too.
I grew up in Delco and last lived in South Jersey, just over the bridge.
I can’t speak to the value and tradeoff of community, but if you are based in Philadelphia and paying the Philadelphia wage tax there, then depending on your total income, the reciprocity with New Jersey may ultimately lower your total tax bill.
Otherwise, given the SALT tax changes, I would go with Malvern, Ardmore, Berwyn, Kennet Square or Radnor.
I live outside Seattle now though I’m at home in Delco currently seeing family.
Check your tax return in 2019 to see what you paid to Philadelphia wage tax. If PWC is only charging you when you are actually in the office, you are likely better off financially in PA.
South Jersey schools are consistently good but if you are looking for a nice area with an Indian community, I’d also suggest Newtown Square.
Economically there’s no question IMO. it’s PA, even DE. Schools in many Philly suburbs are second to none. Indian families live in all of those areas in noticeable numbers if not critical mass. And NJ isn’t far from several prime PA spots, so family would be within an 1.5 hour’s drive or less. Hell, it can take that long to drive from Central to Northern Jersey.
More than happy to provide insight re Salesianum. Otherwise anyone that is down to hangout and be friends, LMK! I’m down to meet up, hangout, whatever!
I grew up in Downingtown PA and highly recommend, top stem school. NJ has been so mismanaged, your property taxes are going to get more and more out of control.
I recently moved from NJ to bucks county. Definitely worth it - lower taxes, better schools, less crazy liberal policies and second amendment rights.
Great - How easy was your decision to relocate(if with school going kids)? Is buying a home crazy as in NJ these days?Any tips please?
I live in bucks county. It’s great and property taxes are lower. DM me and I can be more specific on where I’m at and school districts.
Sure,will do👍
Bucks county and malvern are definitely good areas. Bucks county is probably closer if you’re going to be going back to nj to visit family, and some good towns in bucks county are Doylestown, Buckingham, yardley, newtown or new hope
Is this Newtown in Bucks county or Newtown Square? Sorry ,novice here:)
“Folks”
Tell me you work for PwC without telling me you work for PwC…
Not to deflect the topic but please answer comparison between NJ vs PA🙏
NJ…you can look in the west windsor / princeton junction area which have slightly lower taxes and great access to a direct train into NYC. Plus you have a thriving Indian community near the area!
