Yes, there are plenty of boomerangs. I absolutely refuse to be one of them.

And PA is not repetitive? I'm sick of doing the same thing over and over again every time someone higher up decides to change something.

I went from industry into public after passing the CPA exam, taking a pay cut. No previous accounting experience, but 2 years of experience as a financial analyst.

I thought the same but industry is ridiculously mind numbing and repetitive.

Yes.

I don't know if I can handle sitting in a cube.

Depends on the job, I did PA to industry and back to PA but stayed at the same rate.

Not the whole time, but I got a nice raise in industry. Then back to public and more nice raises. Be smart about it.

Big 4 folks how much of the work at your strategy practices are PMO type of work? I feel like most of the projects in my firm are just being a PMO for hire for a client project. No real strategic work a such. I'm still entry level though so just want to see if this is how the industry will be going ahead.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

I’m a tax associate (specialty tax) at RSM. I’m absolutely burnt out and I have no energy to study at the end of the night. I have so much on my place and I find myself just staring at the screen. Everything is such a mess no matter which firm I go to in this practice. I do the work of 3 or 4 people with no proper training and instructions from my managers because they have no time! It was the same at GT. I’m thinking of a career change to tech, does anyone have any advice?
