First 2 years I worked really hard and did everything by the book. I got majorly f* over by politics and the. I stopped trying and got promoted in the mega round this time
It was timing, politics and just down to your LT
Interestingly I got it working on a low effort project that allowed me to do loads of BD and practice development. Ive managed to build a strong practice team that is selling a lot of work and delivering industry though leadership. The wider DTE seem to also like the external brand and visibility.
Rising Star
My basic litmus test for all of my L7s going for L6 is - have you got feedback on your story from every senior leader who may be in your talent discussion. If you have any blind spots or "who are they" comments, it works against you big time.
If you are a hard worker and good at your job, then building a network of advocates who are also on your talent call is the only answer here. Ensure they are priority reviewers, work friends, and visible to your work.
