I feel a bit burnt out, but is that silly after just 7 months? Burnt out as in exhausted, stressed after work about work the next day etc. I work at a recruitment agency, it is very fast paced desk for temporary roles so immediacy is key. Is the pace the same at in house recruitment? Does anyone have any advice on this? Much appreciated in advance

Hi everyone, I am currently a technical Sourcer/recruiter and make about 53k. I have 2-3 years of experience doing this. I live in Bay Area. As everyone knows it’s expensive out here. I’m currently looking for a new job that offers more and benefits. What is right salary I should ask for? I’ve sourced/recruited for specifically senior engineers. I have an interview tomorrow that’s a perm position, but is less pay, remote, has full benefits. What should I do?
There is an assessment for Comcast for an interview, can someone share what kind of assessment will this be and how can I prepare
Where is the main location of Accenture in Pune? On net, I can see multiple locations, which is the main one? If one joins Accenture Pune, which location would it be most probably?
I started my "professional" career at 19 in retail management (did that for 8 years in Hawaii). Then operations manager/office manager (moved to a different state) for a wholesale company. I kind of did everything there for two years.
Now I work as a administrator for a landscape company. It's also been two years. Where does my career go from there? I'm feeling STUCK in the same pay range (40k-60k). I WANT to do more and make more. I have a curiosity for IT and HR. Any suggestions?

I’m considering joining EY in London. Currently at a boutique consultancy. I joined Fishbowl to try to get a sense ‘from the inside’ of the Big4 as I don’t have close contacts I can ask. I’ve seen a lot of griping in the other channels from more junior staff about comparatively low pay, EY not keeping up, clunky tech, etc. Is that just normal / expected grumbling? Would be really interested in the Partner perspective on this. Feel free to DM if more appropriate. Thanks!
Vaccine mandates over finally. Except for the unconstitutional hypocritical NYC mandate.
Any firms that use CCH make sure your invoices are being checked carefully. We just reviewed ours and were over-billed the last 2 years. We were supposed to have discounts and the math wasn’t even correct across for the amount times the discount to the amount billed. The worst part is our rep then gave a bullshit story of how the list price was incorrect on the invoice but the amount billed was correct.
Did you make a "Resolution" for this year? If so, what was it? I'm working on spending more time with my family, and staying away from tech to the best of my ability on Sundays.
We have some at my firm leaving to be a direct entry partner at EY consulting. He was told he will benefit from the split the same way all other EY partners will. Anyone know if that is accurate?
What are some key ways you balance stress and not taking it out on others/family? It's something I'm always working on but none of us are perfect. That said, I've made vast improvements. During the winter it's always harder as I feel many of my outlets are limited [like golf etc]
I work a midsize regional firm and, no surprise, we are hemorrhaging staff. And it’s the good ones leaving. Some for family offices and industry positions, which I can understand. But others for smaller accounting firms as staff and seniors which just seems like a career killer to me. I’m convinced we need to do retention bonuses, raises, and recruit new talent by paying above market. Of course I’m a younger partner and don’t have the pull to actually make this happen. Thoughts?
I started a firm with three other colleagues about a year and a half ago. We all came from the same bigger firm and now obviously we are considered a very small. We want to make our first hire and hire someone for around $100,000 as a manager to manage around $200,000 of work. They came back at $120,000. After taxes and benefits that’s $150k to manage and prepare $200k of work. Anyone own a smaller firm who can share opinion? How much work should one manage for that kind of salary?
Guys - can anyone share earnings at BDO and RSM at 1-5 years of partner experience. Trying to negotiate with one of these firm and will be helpful to know.
Where are all the accounting professionals going? Competitive pay and benefits aren’t enticing enough. People want work/life balance but how can firms provide that when the workforce supply is so low yet demand is at an all-time high. If technology is the answer are there firms that are successfully implementing solutions?
How is the current madness around Omicron affecting your firm? Are you implementing or changing policies to address it? Know this is a touchy subject, just taking a pulse.

How does leaving a cpa firm partnership work? I have no next role set up but feel like it might be best to give notice and start the process now. Thanks for any advice.
What do other partners take as unreimbursed partnership expenses? I have heard some say they do nothing (because it isn’t addressed in the partnership agreement) but others say they take quite a bit (if there is an expense policy manual that disallows it). My read of the law is the latter is the correct read.
