Hi, I am new to Canada and currently living in Vancouver, BC. I was looking for opportunities in the Financial Services industry in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have about 3 years of experience in the Banking/Financial Services and HealthTech industry and worked alongside IBM and PwC in developing and implementing cutting-edge FinTech products for business clients of a Financial Institution and led the Finance and data science team at a Health tech startup. Let me know if anyone can help me.

I had the best time in law school and now I have a big law job I love and I worry about nothing. And I am in the 1% of happiness in this profession. Everyone else will tell you the complete opposite of me.
I think whether it’s worth it depends on what you’re looking for. My academic experience was mixed and I don’t have many law school friends given my age, such that I hang out with undergraduates more often. But I’m still grateful for the “brand name” it gave me because it’s a huge advantage when applying to top firms that pay Milbank/Cravath scale. There’s also just always so much going on at the school that it opens up many opportunities. If you are determined to go to law school and work in law, go for it :) The investment is worth it.
Depends what your career goals are, if you want to go into Big Law or work outside the geographic location of your school (where most their networking will be for a local/lower ranked school) then the name of a T14 has significant weight & can open many doors. But if you want to go into public interest (a field you’ll typically be paid substantially less than even mid or small size firms) having less debt is a good move in my opinion.
