When I need to get my mind to not sabotage me, I try to learn more about the things it tries to do and which are more successful methods.
I was just listening to one of my favorite podcasts, Ologies, about procrastination and that one has been helping me. Watching TED Talks also helps, and other psychology videos about the specific issue I'm dealing with.

Would listening to audio while doing things around the house help?
I took ritalin to begin with and it did not work for me. I would have these terrible crashes when it would wear off. I'm talking I would be so tired I couldn't do anything at all. I wanted to just lay down and take a nap and sometimes I did.
