For those who switched careers, what pushed you to finally make the jump? I know so many people who think about switching industries but never actually do it. If you successfully pivoted, what finally made you take the leap?

Mine was due to reorg and constant reshifting teams.

Burnout. I was exhausted, underpaid, and dreading Mondays. I realized if I was going to work this hard, it should be for something I actually enjoyed. Took the leap into UX design, and I’ve never looked back.

Did you do any courses or how did you gain experience before landing the job?

like

For me it was the low pay combined with lack of opportunities fueled by a significant reorg and focus shift away from application based software to software platform. Six months before I left I would not have thought about leaving but things went south pretty fast when new management came to town

Bain & Company Hey! Got dinged at BCG and Mck and then hadn't heard back from Bain, but just found out I made it to final rounds. I haven't been prepping for over a week as it'd be two since my first round at Bain.

Hi I have asked to be an advisor for a startup. Its in its very early stage pre pre-seed. Its looking like weekly strategy calls and possibly some executional work as well. Like building out a sales process and/or training sales and marketing team members (this might be 1-3hr a week of work).

They are offering 1.5-3.5%. — I am wondering if that’s enough.

In addition to this the founder mentioned that he would like me to consider becoming a co-founder.

Being from Minnesota, I think it's so funny when people act as if we are some far-left State just because we hadn't voted Republican in a presidential election since Nixon. Never mind that many of our elections are close or that we have elected Republican Senators and governors.

I have voted for both the GOP and the DFL, and I feel like they are both far more normal than their national counterparts

I'm working at a startup where I feel like I've spent as much time trying to deal with product issues vs working on roadmap items. I get this is bound to happen in a start up but is this common? I'm not sure what to do. It seems like no one really thought about the architecture or ux as much as they should have in my opinion. I need some advice.

With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles.
