If you’ve been on maternity leave during the pandemic and been WFH w baby at home (with either nanny or spouse watching baby full time during the day), have any of you been able to continue exclusively breastfeeding? Instead of taking pumping breaks or leaving bottles for the nanny/your spouse to give the baby? Have you been able to manage breastfeeding if you have lots of calls/meetings throughout the day? Please let me know of your experiences; I’m starting work when baby will be 4 months.

Had my first at 36w4d and now I am pregnant with my second and everyone from OB to nurses keep saying any day now since 30 weeks. I am 35 weeks now and literally freak out and plan for every kick and contraction. Has anyone had delivered their second way later ?

Question for parents with kids: i want to teach basic algebra to groups of 5 students transitioning to high school during the summer to make some money. It would be in a virtual capacity and classes would be 1 hour long. My issue is I’m not a parent so i don’t know if summer classes would be best in the morning or afternoon or evening? Should i offer an an shift and pm shift? If so what times are appropriate during the summer as a working class parent?

How hard it is to pivot from domestic compliance to international tax? Hi ladies. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from morning sickness all day every day for the last 5 weeks. It’s been extremely difficult staying on top of everything at work (I’m in a very busy practice group at Kirkland) and am wondering if anyone has gone through this and if anything helped. I’ve tried all of the conventional methods (eating small meals, vitamin B6, ginger etc) but nothing has worked 🥺.

curious how much weight people have lost in the first trimester due to nausea, etc? im toward the end of my first trimester and I haven’t experienced any vomiting but the lack of appetite and aversions have caused me to lose about 10 lbs since my last ultrasound :/ I’d normally be celebrating this as I don’t mind the numbers I’m seeing but I keep worrying about whether baby is getting enough nutrients 😭

Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. I am coming from public service so billables are 100% new to me. Any insight is appreciated.

My husband is a medical resident so he doesnt have a predictable schedule and we dont have family in town. Considering au pairs, but also curious about what other moms have done and what worked.

However, my first year of practice was highly supervised and I was given no cases of my own (Always worked the cases with major supervision and micromanaging by partners in my previous firm).
