I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.

You can make more and work less. As in, you CAN, but only if you’re booked. You need a great portfolio and a good network of people who will hire you and happily recommend you. So, for a seasoned freelance CD, the freedom and money outweigh the uncertainty.
To make what I make as a freelancer (mind you, I take off about 8 weeks a year for holiday) , I’d have to have a $480K+ salary as a full-time employee.
No, I’m saying as a W2 employee you have no tax efficiencies and your net pay ends up being around 60% of gross. As an s-corp freelancer, my net pay is around 80%+.
I can relate to this mindset. There comes a point where time and autonomy may become more valuable than a higher paycheck. For those who've made the move, was the increased flexibility worth giving up the stability of a full-time role?
