Gave an interview for EY GDS manager role and currently HR is discussing salary and role. I've 10yrs of total experience in frontend development and CCTC is 28 LPA. I negotiated for 42 fixed but HR mentioned 37 is all they can offer. My current company hike will come out next month and expect at least 5-8% hike and my CCTC will jump to 31LPA. What's the actual salary band for the manager role? Should I accept for 37 then negotiate later after my company hikes are out?

Hi! I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. Why did Toronto (or Canada?) change the exit signs from the classic red EXIT sign to the green running man? Wouldn’t it confuse more people especially elders in finding the exit?

I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

What would you say is the difference between a billable hour target vs. minimum? I feel like some firms boast about not having a “minimum” but the expectation is that you to exceed this target which just makes it a minimum.
