Getting cold feet about turning in my notice. Recently got an offer from a company for a role I’ve been super curious about. My current role is good - pay-wise, manager & team-wise, etc - but I’m really tired of the daily grind of my current job function. I’ve been here for only 4 months so I’m afraid I’m making a mistake leaving a good opportunity for something so unknown and career pivot and sooo new to me (plus it’s a startup, so less stable than current job). What should I do?

I am graduating with an MS Cybersecurity this June and have been working as a Project Analyst for 5 years. I am in the process of applying to consulting firms (both big and boutique). I am looking to get a broad experience and travel (whenever that starts up again). Do you have any advice for someone jumping from industry to consulting? Any tips that would get me noticed by hiring managers and/or recruiters? With what you know now, what would you do in my shoes?

Hi Folks, I have offers from 3 companies for Senior Data Engineer role and need your suggestions which I should join. 1. Deloitte offering 130K plus benefits, 6% 401K match, 10K joining bonus, they are assigning me to PDM track with long term project. 2. SS&C is offering 145K plus benefits, 6% 401K match. 3. Hoverstate is a small company offering 140k plus benefits plus 5% bonus end of year. All positions are remote.

Interviewing for what should be SD role in A&M’s public sector practice. I know it’s quite small compared to Deloitte, which is part of the appeal. Curious about how comp model differs in public sector at A&M vs their PEPI or NACR groups. What’s the culture like? Opportunities to move up?

If you started your own consulting firm: - what would you do differently regarding hiring/people management/compensation? - how would you balance offering competitive compensation with constraints of being a new firm and needing to build savings? - how would you determine your rates and tie these to employee salary? Consider a constraint of your consultants being leveraged by a larger firm who takes a small % of the rate, deals with contract overhead, and sources work.

Why do companies, specially consulting ones, still cares about a referral? People are giving referral like candies to unknown people just to get that juicy bonus (not judging, have done the same).
