Getting interviewed by someone who doesn’t know how to do an interview is absolutely the worst. They don’t know what to ask , they don’t know the role , the responsibilities, the requirements is absolutely a joke. Then to not get passed to the next around is just mind blowing. The interviewer failed

Ugh the incompetence is mind blowing aint it? Half of all of my interview focus on my family, race and age and I even had an interviewer look up my name and address and told me to change it. There should be a law against interviewing incompetence lol.

I agree someone who can’t do an interview who doesn’t have a good personality it sucks they shouldn’t be doing this line of work

Yeah, but that means you. Red to ensure they get the information. Tell them your read, at this point. They are a mouthpiece.

So use them wisely.. had this happen and I still made it to the next round because I took charged and made the Jones even easier for them.

That sounds like an uncomfortable interview to be in. I am sorry that happened to you. Hang in there and keep applying to other roles.

DE&I is now a core leadership competency. If you are managing diverse talent, it’s important to understand what the term “privilege” means within a DE&I context so you can lead your team to higher levels of inclusivity+develop optimal strategies for solutioning around team issues/challenges. Everyone has some aspect of privilege depending upon the context. Privilege means the absence of obstacles/barriers, not necessarily the presence of perks. Though some would say *that* itself is a perk.

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. Wondering if I’m making the right choice

So, I just joined a startup. No processes, no clear strategy, just one goal: selling. Getting leads. When ever I try to build a strategy, they (founders) swamp me with blablabla stories and not a single action plan. Is this the usual at startups? Also,no real company culture. At all. No HR. I am reaaaally struggling to get a sense of belonging here. What should I expect?? Tia

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

I just left my pre-seed startup that was running out of cash (we made $100,000 in revenue this year, and sunk $1m in costs). I was making $40,000 as a developer (plus 20k stock options at $1/share per year) and they refused to pay me any more money. I have 17,000 vested stock options, total number of shares at the time of my contract was 4million. I’m a bit confused about share dilution and if it’s worth it for me to buy some of my stock options… thanks in adv!
