I’d look for places that serve pizza or pasta.

It was actually one of my least favorite food cities in Italy. We did like Ai Bozzi.
Yeah I’d also love to know these magical places I’ve been missing out on
We had lunch at La Taverna dei Fori Imperiali after doing a Colosseum/Foro tour and it was great compared to the other tourist traps we ate at.
Our big meal was lunch at Le Jardin de Russie after Villa Medici and we loved that.
Also enjoyed Trattoria Da Enzo in Trastevere and Antico Falcone but not as much as the top two.
But yeah def my least favorite city for food in Italy. The best we had were Florence and Sicily.
Naples food is great. Find a good authentic Neapolitan pizza spot.
Tonarello was amazing! line may look long but it goes by quick
Thank you! I have this saved now in my Google maps and looked it up.
Matricianella is excellent. Also Il Conte Grillo. Both good for Roman classics eg Amatriciana and Carbonara. Da Bafetto for pizza. Bonci Pizzariun for all types by the slice. Cafe Eustachio for coffee and people watching. I’ve done the Eating Rome tour which was a guided food and drink tour that hits multiple places. La Gensola in Trastevere for exceptional seafood.
We are staying in the Ludovisi district of Rome but do plan to go to the Vatican.
Eat at Osteria Vecchio Cancello when you get to Florence. Unreal.
