Good morning,
I am privacy newbie and obtained my CIPP/US recently and would like to look for my next role. Currently, I am not working and I’m in a litigation heavy jurisdiction. What role should I be looking for to help in my transition? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have prior work experience outside of privacy? If not, I'd go with a firm before trying to go in-house unless you're looking for non-legal privacy compliance work.

like

Would you like to go the firm route or in house?

I am open to either route. I am in Florida and there aren’t a lot of opportunities here that are not defense work. Which I don’t mind doing if it is ultimately going to lead to a more privacy focus role.

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

Considering a Product Owner role. Any best practices of what questions to ask during an interview? First phase deals with a virtual Teams interview with the recruiter and her manager on Tuesday. This would be a permanent full-time compared to my current contractor role that ends in March.

Anyone here work in-house? 2nd year associate, aiming to get an in-house role at a startup or smaller company and thinking of getting CIPP certified.

I have heard privacy is a big issue for companies these days and am wondering if it is worth getting certified to stand out. I have been doing M&A and PE work before so I do not have any applied privacy experience (but I think it’s really interesting).

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
