Listen to your clients. Believe your clients. Shadow and ask as many questions as you can. Many days you will feel like you know nothing, but you are all that stands between our clients and the crushing weight of a system that wants them to fail! We are the defense!

You need to develop a schedule that will allow you to maintain a work life balance. Defence work, especially as a PD, can be all consuming, burn out is a very real threat. Shadow as much as you can, but also work on forging relationships with Senior lawyers that know the law inside out. That way, if you run into something you don't know how to handle, you can ask them.

While it is fun to trial with friends always choose a trial partner that has as much experience as possible. You will learn so much more. When you hear about the senior attorneys going to trial watch as much as possible but save your questions until after the trial because they may not have the bandwidth.

I’m an Environmental Protection Specialist and make pretty good money for what I do. I just feel like I have more to offer than being a worker bee in a system at 25. I work with a lot of retirees and would love to return in my latter professional years. I have my Bachelors in Applied Coastal Environmental Science and want to expand my options. Any suggestions that won’t require me taking a crazy pay cut? I’m pretty much open to anything.

Hi I have 5+ yrs of bedside clinical research nurse experience and have been trying to pivot to the CRO world. I have applied to over 40+ positions and keep getting rejected. Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Anyone go from SaaS / licensing sales to services (strategy & implementation) sales?

I'm thinking of moving from large cap tech to large cap consultancy firm to help build the resume and round out my experience. I enjoy and do well in licensing, but I'm fairly young in my career (<6 years) and received a great offer to make the move.

Big fan of the org and team I'll be joining as well.

Thanks!!

Anybody aware of a situation where an employee was retained with a hike in Indian salary while being at onsite while resigning?

I’m so tired of US companies hiring remote Canadian employees offering to pay a fraction of the price for the same role.

This is consistent across the majority of the tech companies. While I am looking to exit consulting, don’t want to be paid 50% of what my colleagues would be making across the border.

Hi fishes,
I had interviewed for Cognizant and I was asked to submit my documents for offer letter release. This happened on the same day as my interview(Friday 6th May). I submitted my documents and I am trying to contact the HR who scheduled my interview, but she is not picking up my call. My question is how soon can I expect the offer letter to be released? And is there a possibility that they can reject my profile at this stage?
