Got a verbal offer from an agency, asked for the weekend to think about it, followed up with an email asking for the offer in writing and now I’ve seemingly been ghosted.

Shameless.

Shameless seems punchy. A couple days isn’t that long. I wouldn’t give up hope. Also, “think about it”doesn’t make it sound like you’re in a rush either.

Many such cases. I can’t IMAGINE not communicating with someone I’ve spoken to about a job. It takes zero time to say ‘we went another way on this’. It’s so wild.

like

Could take two days to get the offer in writing and that’s what’s happening. 🤞

There’s still time. Remain cool and don’t panic yet

I got a verbal offer 2 weeks ago, still waiting on the written one…. They’ve kept me updated every couple of days though. Should I just give up?

Keep waiting, but also keep looking / interviewing elsewhere

if they still ghost you. name drop them!

LOL. This happened to me a few years ago. For me it was bad timing. CCO bringing me in to run one of the offices got let go the day I was supposed to get my offer. They ghosted me for two weeks then finally got back to me saying because of CCO change they are going in a different direction.

Publicly shame these assholes. Go on social media and air them out. Stop letting them win and take advantage of people looking for work!

I wish I could have advised you not to do this! It’s so unprofessional of them. It’s happened to me, they rescinded the offer because I didn’t jump for joy and say yes immediately. Sure it’s my perspective but it felt that way. I was pretty burned out, (personal things), and was surprised with an offer. All I said was that it was great to hear the team loved to work with me & I needed a few days to think about it and take care of some personal things. When i broached the topic a few days later, it was off the table. In the future always get things in writing. And if they don’t want to document it, YOU can. “Thanks for your call this afternoon, I’m excited to learn that you’ve made me an offer to be XYZ, I need a few days to get some personal things in order and will share my decision with you on Monday. Excited at the prospect of coming onboard etc!”

My American citizen 8 month old is on tourist visa in India; current stay runs out on June 7. Flying outside the country is a risk we don’t want to take w/COVID. Don’t want to overstay the visa either. So we applied online on eFRRO to convert his visa to X-1 so we can apply for his OCI. They didn’t ask for payment and message popped up saying watch your text/email for next steps. Anything else I can do?

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?

I just got called about a job on Thursday, showing interest. They’re already back in the office so the job would require me to be. Said they’re classified as an essential business because most of their advertising is for healthcare. Is this a hard red flag? Really Seems like it.

Are there any agencies where creatives actually have good work-life balance in LA, SF or anywhere else for that matter? Like no weekends or no working more than a 40-50hr week? Or do I have to go in house for this? Or do I have to leave advertising altogether?
