Applying to other positions and feel weird asking my (only) engagement manager for a letter of rec. what’s the best way to go about asking?

when switching job, how long does it take for people to land their job? How many interview in total?

Recently passed interviews and got an offer, but I'm not too excited about the role and the overall package. Will recruiters in the future be able to see that I already had an offer? Would that impact my chances to get an interview if I applied for other roles? I would love to work for Google at some point, but might want to wait for a role that's a better fit. Or should I just accept it to have a foot in the door and try to transfer after I joined? Many thanks for your advice

Hey friends — hoping somebody out there can point me to an excellent Brazilian animation studio. I’ve worked with one before at a previous agency. They were incredible, but I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve forgotten their name. They illustrated then animated a case study and knocked it out of the park. Their rate was good too. But now that I have a degree and two years of experience (I was acting as a junior in both roles) I was thinking about applying for a mid-level position but nervous since I haven’t officially held a junior planner title yet. How long usually between initial 2 partner screener and callback in a lateral interview from your experience?

I wanted to get some peoples’ thoughts on interviews. I haven’t been having much success. Maybe will hear back from 10% of the places I apply to. Gotten to final stages of a couple and feel like I’ve been runner-up or barely lost out two or three times. I keep trying but I can’t say my confidence isn’t affected or it isn’t a blow to self-esteem. I’m generally a straight shooter and maybe I’m just not playing the game. I wonder how many people embellish or outright make stuff up to get a job.

Has anyone purchased a true fixer upper? We saw a great place, but the hardwood hadn't been taken care of since the 70s, the carpet was the same age (one room only had subfloor under so would need new floors), windows were ancient, skylights leaked, 2.5 bathrooms circa 1976, and a great space above the garage for a master and master bath but needed to be dormered and finished. Old trees need to come down. New appliances needed. Who knows what else. We're thinking ~$300k. Love the house, but...

Hey ladies. I just started my weight loss journey about 3 wks ago and I’m down 15 lbs so far just by changing my diet. I have a long way to go to my goal, 85 more to go, but I’m determined and motivated! I’m trying to incorporate some exercise into my routine now...(I’m not quite ready for a gym membership)...putting music on and just moving is my favorite. So, I thought this could be a good way to get exercise in. Can anyone recommend any dance related workouts/YouTube vids/ etc.? TIA :)
