Additional info: I just had my second child a few months ago so also looking forward to a slower pace.
From what I've heard: internal audit is pretty much a dead end, but it is well paying and not intensive most of the time.
I wouldn’t say dead end but might be hard to jump from that IA gig to let’s say a controller position down the line. That being said, you can hit $200K and have great work life balance, not a ton of stress etc. Don’t listen to all the IA hate here but definitely do research and understand what you want from your next move.
Internal Audit - yuck. I started in IA my first 2 years out of school. Then joined PwC as a first year almost 36 years ago. Best move of my life. Retiring as a partner in June without a care in the world. Please think this through before finalizing your decision.
Assurance- started in banking. 2 years later moved to what is now PCS and never looked back.
PTO a couple days less but they have a lot more holidays right?
Can someone move into IA without SOX experience?
