Totally agree. I’d add: great PMs are the best translators in the room. Between business, design, and engineering, it’s less about being fluent in every language and more about knowing how to bridge the gaps without losing clarity or momentum.
Agree - you have to be able to code switch and put it in terms that matter to the audience you're communicating to
Focussing on the problems, not the solution.
Your only job really is to articulate what the businesses problems are and define the priority of these. If you can accurately describe problems, engineers will give you the solutions.
I've met too many product managers that try to get involved in the solutions. To be frank, no PM I've met has the skills to solutionise.
This is my biggest pet peeve. Someone that doesn't know how the product works telling me to add specific solutions. Hard no, tell the the problem first
