Greetings everyone! In January I will be traveling to New York City for the first time. I'd like to know what is a must to try among the food and, importantly, in what spots.
I would also like to hear opinions on which observation deck has the best view of the city.
And, of course, I would appreciate any other tips and advice for someone who has never been to New York.

The best piece of advice I can give you about NY is that it's too big to do everything, so don't try, youll just run yourself ragged and be miserable. Just pick an area or two and enjoy that part of it and save the rest for next time.

Hard to give recommendations without knowing your taste and budget, but I prefer staying in Chelsea or around midtown, always near a subway stop. Then you can also access the Meatpacking District and the Hi Line. From there, you can get to the Standard, which has a rooftop bar/club called Le Bain, which offers great views.

Always fly in/out of LGA, not JFK, which is a dump.

Too many restaurants too name, but check out Chelsea Market, Eataly, Cocodaq and Cote.

Yes, I booked the hotel near Empire State Building. Now I am thinking if Empire State has the best observation deck or Edge/ Top of the Rock/One World Observatory is better.

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?

Can her mom get her a passport in the US and ship it to her? Is there anyway around this?
