Group interviews stress me out more than one on one!😳 I never know how much to talk without cutting others off. Do you think group interviews actually help hiring or just weed people out?

I’ve never had a group interview before. I would assume it’s a dog and pony show they pick the person they like the best not the person who answers the best questions.

Manager 1 is right they are so awkward!

They help companies trim the field faster. They are zero help for candidates. Interviewing is hard enough when you don't have to compete for the interviewer's attention. I hate this format so much.

I hate it too! It’s not a very nice position to be in!

I don’t like them, but for certain positions, I can see how they make sense. You will be working in a group. Best to see how you do that firsthand.

Yeah I agree, it would be better sometimes to see your people skills!

Sounds like it benefits the company most, as far as fielding for candidates much quicker. Can’t see a productive way to conduct these

Yeah it does benefit the company the most!

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

In the process of interviewing for a strategy/Corp dev position at an activewear/athleisure company and they want me to think of a couple tangential industries that may have companies for acquisition and do a write up. I’m stumped on what else an activewear company would buy besides other activewear companies. I can only think of home fitness (Lulu’s Mirror) or vitamins/supplements. Any thoughts?

Recent lateral junior associate in brand new practice where I'm the only associate. I'm probably going to bill 1,500 hours max this year due to being very slow and taking time off for a delayed honeymoon which I disclosed during my interview process. I have been told my work product is good, I don't turn anything down, I participate in non-billable work, I'm responsive and I always let people know I'm available to help. Do I need to be worried about getting fired for low hours?

Just started a new Data Analyst position in which I have constant meetings with senior leadership and executives. I have a bad habit of giving too much background info and not getting straight to the point. I just feel like every little detail is important (even though that’s not always the case). Any tips for breaking this habit or just become more efficient with advising?

Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
